Umbau auf Sicherung der Kurbelmutter. Ein wichtiger und unbedingt notwendiger Umbau der Champion Modelle 1, wenn man damit Erfolgreich und Störungsfrei fischen möchte! Diese Änderung, wurde leider damals erst mit dem Modell 2 eingeführt! Warum das so wichtig ist, erkläre ich ganz unten !

Unbedingt eine Kurbel verwenden, an der die Kurbelmutter gesichert ist! Wenn man die Rolle original lassen möchte, besorgt man sich eine andere Kurbel mit Sicherung. Oder man baut die vorhandene Kurbel um, Beschreibung weiter unten!

Be sure to use a crank handle with a locking nut! If you want to keep the reel’s original design, get a different crank handle with a locking mechanism. Alternatively, you can modify your existing crank handle; see below for instructions!

Man besorgt sich einen Sicherungssatz, im Netz werden überall welche angeboten! Dann Mittig und mit dem richtigen Abstand zur Mutter, die Bohrung , mit dem entsprechenden Kernloch, für das Gewinde anbringen. Anschließend das Gewinde mit dem richtigen Durchmesser und Steigung, schneiden! Wer so etwas noch nie gemacht hat, sollte einen Metaller fragen, oder lässt sich das vom Feinmechaniker um die Ecke machen! Ich kann leider keine Maße hier nennen, weil die Sicherungen und Schrauben, im Durchmesser und Länge etwas variieren!

You’ll need a set of locking pins; they’re readily available online. Then, drill a hole with the appropriate pilot hole for the thread, centered and at the correct distance from the nut. Next, cut the thread to the correct diameter and pitch. If you’ve never done this before, consult a metalworker or have it done by a local precision mechanic. Unfortunately, I can’t provide specific dimensions because the locking pins and screws vary slightly in diameter and length.

Das Problem mit der Kurbelmutter ist folgendes :

Zieht man die Kurbelmutter zu fest an, wird auf die Bremsbeläge Nr. 23 und 22, ein zu großer Druck ausgeübt, dadurch kann man nicht mehr, richtig rund und leichtgängig kurbeln, der Antrieb wird hakelig! Zieht man die Kurbelmutter nicht ganz so fest an, so dass man gut und leichtgängig kurbeln kann, dann kam es leider häufiger vor, das die Kurbelmutter am Wasser verloren ging. Die Rolle war dann, bedingt weiter einsetzbar, weil die darunter liegende Schraube bzw. bei den neueren Modellen ein Sprengring dafür sorgte, das die Kurbel noch auf der Welle blieb! Aber sie wackelte dann stark hin und her und man musste das fischen einstellen, um keine weiteren Schäden hervor zurufen!

The problem with the crank nut is this:

If the crank nut is tightened too much, excessive pressure is exerted on brake pads 23 and 22. This makes it impossible to crank smoothly and easily, and the reel becomes jerky. If the crank nut isn’t tightened quite enough to allow for smooth cranking, it unfortunately often happens that the crank nut comes loose while fishing. The reel can then still be used to a limited extent because the screw underneath, or in newer models a circlip, keeps the crank on the shaft. However, it wobbles considerably, and fishing has to be stopped to avoid further damage.

Das betrifft fast alle Hersteller von Multirollen, zu der entsprechenden Zeit! Die Hersteller arbeiteten mit einem kleinen Trick! Sie legten, eine Ersatzmutter ins Zubehörpaket!
